Chatters Limited Partnerships has an immediate opening for a full-time Payroll Associate. This position is open to candidates in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and surrounding areas.


Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Associate is an integral member of the accounting team and responsible for the timely, accurate and effective processing of payroll.


Description Of Duties


  • Preparation and filing of ROE’s.
  • Management of payroll emails by responding in a timely and professional manner.
  • Responding to Service Canada requests.
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes and internal controls.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payroll transactions.
  • Full cycle payroll for approximately 1300 employees across 5 provinces in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist with preparation and reconciliation of all year-end reporting requirements.
  • Investigate and rectify discrepancies and payroll errors in a timely manner.
  • Collect, verify, and input employee data, including new hires, terminations, and leaves of absence.
  • Ensure timely & accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll for hourly, commission, and salary staff.
  • Review and auditing of data transfer between HRMS and Payroll systems.
  • Assist with audits by providing records and documentation as required.
  • Provide backup and support for other payroll team members.
  • Create and run reports on ad-hoc basis.

Qualifications/Requirements


  • Minimum 3 years payroll experience.
  • Active Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation with National Payroll Institute is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including formulas, pivot tables, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Provincial Employment Standards.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes including provincial and federal regulations.
