About the Company: Lloydminster Region Housing Group is a reputable not-for-profit organization based in Lloydminster. : We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our team on a full-time basis. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to the management team. Benefits: • Extended Health care • Dental • EAP • RRSP matching Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to the management team. • Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and financial statements. • Prepare grant applications, financial reports, and other documentation required by funding agencies. • Manage cash flow and banking activities, including reconciliations, investments, and debt management. • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. • Supervise and mentor finance department staff, providing guidance and support as needed. • Stay updated on industry best practices, accounting standards, and regulatory changes. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred. • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Controller or similar role, preferably in a not-for-profit organization considered an asset. • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite. • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
