About the opportunity:
The Manufacturing Quality Manager is accountable for factories’ quality and Food Safety performance within a business category, ensuring support in day-to-day operations, developing talent, and driving transformation through the QFS Long-Term Plan (LTP) execution.
The attributes we are looking for:
- Identify gaps and drive compliance to all QFS standards from Lactalis Canada, for which factories are held accountable, including on-site and remote support, as required.
- Support factory self-assessment internal audit program deployment and training in keeping with the QFS Roadmap initiatives
- Lead the implementation of 365 days FSSC22000 audit readiness.
- Identify and lead cost reduction linked to customer & consumer complaints, product variability, waste, and finished goods losses
- Implements Lactalis Canada Food Safety and Quality transformation programs (LTP) in factories.
- Drive KPI’s improvement by engaging, enabling, and supporting Factory Quality Managers to identify gaps and deliver improvement action plans.
- Provide technical support and expertise to factories in case of Food-Safety & Quality non-conformities (including risk analysis, problem-solving, actions plan, derogation, concession, contingency plan, and crisis management) with a focus on milk reception to enhance the robustness of our QFS processes
- Support Quality-in-Design process and ensure factory Quality teams provide QFS deliverables from the Innovation funnel methodology for each project, including innovation, renovation, productivity and quality improvement projects.
- Support factories regarding milk compliance and milk reception
- Implement and monitor quality and food safety KPIs on raw milk quality
- Coordinate cross-factory and cross-category action plans and projects regarding milk reception to reach annual QFS objectives
- Facilitate along with factory Quality Managers the implementation of raw milk control plan as per Canadian and Group requirements
- Review & align or escalate factory QFS critical incidents and risk assessments to validate the investigation results, disposition recommendations, and engage in further communications.
- Partner with procurement and milk farmers representatives to improve the raw milk quality delivered at the plants.
- All Non Conformances reported by plants for the raw milk reception will be communicated and trended with milk suppliers along with milk procurement team
What you will bring:
- National travel as needed (within Canada)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop a strong relationship with Factory Management teams; partnering with them to drive operational excellence and expectations at the factory level.
- Strong organizational skill
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, statistics is a plus.
- Knowledge of GFSI (preferably FSSC22000), food safety (HACCP) programs, Preventive Controls, and Quality Systems
- 10+ years QA experience in a dairy plant, corporate food safety/quality experience a plus
- Strong leadership skills to inspire, coach, develop, and engage the team to work collaboratively; to create and drive a culture that motivates them to achieve the QFS objectives and overall business goals collectively
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science
- Supports the identification and delivery of training and capability building of site teams based on competency model and operational needs
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment
- Skill to document findings and data, clearly, concisely, and accurately
