Electrical Project Coordinator Jobs

The Ottawa Region is seeking a full-time Electrical Project Coordinator who must be skilled, detail oriented, and result focused. The Electrical Project Coordinator will be responsible for institutional and industrial projects, as well as project based work such as planning, organizing, coordinating and supporting technical work flow on assigned engineering, procurement, and construction projects related to the electrical and mechanical field. The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager.

• Ensure site is operating in accordance to health, safety and environmental standards
• Assist with the identification and resolution of field technical issues
• Assess the impacts of schedule changes and notify parties involved
• Work with and prepare detailed diagrams, plans, drawings, reports and presentations
• Assist in planning schedules and monitoring progress against established schedules
• Attend a range of project, group and technical meetings
• Liaise closely with other professionals including architects, engineers, contractors, builders, and surveyors
• The successful candidate may be required to perform other duties as assigned
• Purchasing material and equipment for secured jobs
• Coordinate, assess, and organize the work of various electrical projects
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other resources to design the systems required for various projects
• Solicit and submit shop drawings between vendors and owners for approval
• Coordinate daily operations and construction activities

Requirements

• A College Diploma in Construction or Electrical Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project and Outlook
• Experience in drafting practices for electrical and mechanical building systems
• Ability to establish a strong working relationship with co-workers, vendors and clients
• Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications and building material
• Proficiency in the following design software: Revit, AutoCad, QuickPen PipeDesigner 3D,and QuickPen DuctDesigner 3D
• Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
• 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry complete with electrical engineering and building construction skills
