Our client, a local electrical construction and maintenance provider is looking for a Project Manager to join their growing team.
Your new role
The Project Manager role encompasses a wide range of duties which include but are not limited to the following: budgets, managing labour, purchasing, administration, cost control, supplier and subcontractor coordination, communication, scheduling, pricing of change orders, financial management of projects, establishing and managing client relationships. Project Managers are expected to have a direct line of communication with General Contractors and owners
Some primary functions of this position are:
• Participate in Estimating handover and preconstruction meetings, as required. • Manage labour on assigned projects with the support and direction from the VP of Operations. • Complete monthly financial forecasting reports for all assigned projects and attend weekly project status meetings. • Review contracts for scope, maintain productivity, quality, and costs and ensure the projects are completed in a manner that supports the overall strategic and operational objectives of the company. • Manage all change order pricing following our change order process. • Ensuring complete project success throughout the project lifecycle. • Understand the different levels of construction design and effectively hold internal stakeholders to the right standards during the appropriate phases of the preconstruction process. • Continuously build and improve working relationships with Company employees, project owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. • Provide guidance and assistance for proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials. Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of conceptual estimate. Provide conceptual and final estimating and scheduling input on assigned projects. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to develop pursuit strategies, trade partner relationships, cost analysis, and standard operating procedures for the Estimating department. • Responsible for weekly reporting of new project opportunities, concerns, and achievements to the Executive Management Team as necessary. This includes identifying risk areas and mitigation plans.
What you'll need to succeed
• Electrical experience for a minimum of 3 years • Minimum of 2 years construction industry experience combined with project management • Ability to interpret site and building plans and specifications • Ability to communication professionally and effectively • Committed team player with excellent interpersonal skills
