Jr Project Manager, Temporary Full-Time
HIS, Niagara Falls site/ Hybrid
Hours: 75 Hours per pay period
Estimated End Date: December 2024

Position Objective
Niagara Health is entering a time of great opportunity and we are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of our extraordinary team and future that includes a focus on digital health technologies that scale both within and far beyond the traditional walls of the hospital. As Niagara Health advances its work in digital transformation and embarks on the implementation of a new Health Information System (HIS), a number of clinical, non-clinical and technical initiatives and activities are underway to support the overall HIS implementation.
As a valued member of the team, the Junior Project Manager will play a role in delivering transformational projects that will maximize investments while remaining on time, on scope and on budget. The assigned projects can include but are not limited to; implementation of new software, upgrades/enhancements to existing software, business/clinical process changes that require the rigor of project management. The successful candidate will apply project management knowledge, clinical expertise and interpersonal skills to execute projects using project management methodologies and tools. The Junior Project Manager, HIS should have strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
Responsibilities
- Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Plan, schedule and manage project scope, deliverables, timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Collaborate and facilitate requirements gathering within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Estimate development efforts and define activities to support project deliverables and establish milestones
- Manage the daily operational aspects of a project enforcing project standards, anticipating and troubleshooting issues and minimizing the hospital's exposure to risk
- Develop, manage and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations
- Anticipate and analyze risks and issues, explore alternatives, develop appropriate recommendations with project and technical teams and present issue to leadership
- Work closely with the HIS Project Control Office Manager and HIS team members to create project work plans in coordination with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate in a meaningful way
- Experience in a health care/public sector preferred
- College Diploma specializing in business, project management or a health related field and/or 1-3 years equivalent work experience
- CAPM or PMP designation required or in progress
- Experience with Microsoft Suite including MS Project and SharePoint
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to handle a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
- Familiarity with healthcare information systems, interfaces, HL7, ITIL, and/or enterprise architecture an asset

- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, coaching and negotiation

- Ability to apply project management knowledge and expertise (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization)
