Hours: 37.5 hrs/week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (evenings/weekends as needed)
Wage: $18–$20 per hour (dependent on experience)

The Foundation’s team is full of amazing people working to raise funds to enhance addictions and mental health support throughout Alberta. Our goal is to ensure that every Albertan has the mental health support they need when they need it most. The MHF is growing and we are looking for the right individual(s) to contribute to our important work and bring their grant-writing expertise and passion to the table.
TheDonor Research Coordinatorreports to the Director of Philanthropy and is an integral member of MHF team who applies creative research techniques to provide high-level description and analysis on individuals, corporations and foundations (including current and prospective donors, as well as extended individual and organizational relationships) using a wide variety of biographical, organizational, anecdotal and financial sources. The position draws upon multiple resources to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, and connections with the MHF with the goal of generating new donations and fostering strategically important relationships to the Foundation.
Additionally, the successful candidate will play a key role in providing support to Manager, Donor Impact & Engagement on special projects and assignments. Preferred applicants are data-driven, team players with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Satisfy the information needs of the Philanthropy team by preparing profiles, verifying research data, providing proactive research, and analyzing data on individual constituents of interest to the MHF.
- Other work duties as required.
- Adherence to the organization’smission, vision, and values.
- Maps relationships between donors and prospects to help identify opportunities and build major gifts pipeline. Analyzes wealth screening data to identify new donor prospects.
- Outreach and communication with donors and supporters of the Foundation.
- Contributes to the preparation of other reports/documents.
- Conducts in-depth prospect research for corporations, foundations, and individual major gift prospects; analyzes, interprets, and evaluates biographical, business, personal, and financial information for current and prospective donors. Produces clear and concise research reports.
- Student working towards a degree, fields of study may include: business, data analysis, marketing & communications, or other.
- Research skills with the ability to gather and analyze information, summarize and present findings clearly, concisely, professionally and in easily understandable ways.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and project management software (e.g. Asana).
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate overlapping projects, and work with multiple deadlines.
- Exhibits strong customer service, organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy.
- Be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
This is a temporary role from Monday, June 5—Friday, September 1, 2023.The funding for this position is supported by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and is intended for a student pursuing full time education. There is potential for this role to be extended on a part-time basis.
