WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
19 to Zero has partnered with the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS) to hire a part-time Community Research Coordinator to join our dynamic partnership and play a pivotal role in advancing our missions to work closely with the community and community representing groups to understand the health behaviours and needs of Canadians.
This part-time role will work closely with both community groups, CCIS, and 19 to Zero to bridge the partnership between our teams and underrepresented and vulnerable communities by supporting the deliverables related to various research grants. An ideal candidate will have a strong ability to take initiative, be able to work with little to no direction, be able to communicate clearly opportunities and risks with internal and external team members, and be excited by opportunity the to help keep the team organized! Our candidate will be comfortable with a diverse team both online and in person, in Calgary, Alberta.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Research Activities
● Conduct scoping reviews on topics relevant to newcomer settlements, community integration, and related fields
● Lead quantitative and qualitative research projects
● Summarize and synthesize research findings to provide insights into promising practices, key
recommendations, and emerging trends
● Plan and coordinate culturally responsive focus group sessions involving community members,
stakeholders, and program participants
● Develop culturally responsive discussion guides and materials for focus group recruitment and
sessions to gather qualitative data
● Facilitate focus group discussions, ensuring an inclusive, respectful, and culturally safe
environment
● Collect, organize, and manage research data in a systematic and secure manner
● Assist in data analysis and interpretation, contributing to the preparation of reports and
presentations
Community Engagement
● Engage with community members, service users, and partners to gather input and feedback through surveys, interviews, and discussions
● Develop reports, presentations, policy briefs, and other knowledge mobilization materials for clients that synthesize findings for various audiences
● Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative research findings, identifying strengths, recommendations, trends, patterns, and key insights
● Assist with other project management tasks, including planning, organizing, and coordinating research activities
The Details
This position is a part-time role (approximately 15-20 hours per week), reporting to both 19 to Zero and CCIS. This is a hybrid position and involves virtual and in-person participation in Calgary, Alberta.
