Job Description

EHS Partnerships Ltd. (EHSP) is seeking a Safety Coordinator on behalf of our client based in Edmonton, AB. This is a permanent, full-time position. Working under the guidance of EHSP’s senior safety specialists and reporting to the client’s CEO, the successful candidate will provide health and safety leadership for a heavy-duty trucking company.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be detail oriented with a positive attitude and is well-informed about relevant health and safety legislation. Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate, develop, and maintain company health and safety program that adheres to or exceeds OHS legislation and any other municipal, or provincial legislation as it applies to the dealership and report infractions per policy.
  • Participate on behalf of the client where required in safety-related activities.
  • Foster positive safety culture that integrates safety policies/practices into a daily practice for company personnel.
  • Coordinate health and safety activities for the company including recommending best practice improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience with computerized LMS systems is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety with up to 5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of relevant government and legal regulations including but not limited to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment medical.
