Transportation Health And Safety Coordinator

Kleysen is seeking aTransportation Health andSafety Coordinatorto actively participate in developing, training, and supporting our Yard, Trucking and Rail safety programs in our Edmonton facility. The position reports to the Manager, Safety and Health and will work closely with team members in Safety, the Operations leadership, and employees.

The ideal candidate will have health and safety experience with:

• Participating in the development of safety systems, policies and training and competency assessments
• Conducting hazard analysis, risk assessments and incident investigations to determine root cause
• Supporting disability and return to work programs
• Conducting behavioral based observations, safety inspections and audits
• Communicating and reporting on safety metrics to leadership and employees
• Assisting in the creation of safe workplace procedures and best practices
• Identifying opportunities to support and enhance a Safety 1stculture

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Federal safety and environmental regulations
• Post-secondary education in health, safety, and environmental management
• Preference given to candidates with health and safety experience within the transportation industry: over-the road and/or rail
• Confident communication and problem-solving skills
• Proven experience developing health and safety programs, procedures, training programs, internal audits, and inspections
