About The Team


Our SMB Sales team finds and engages with prospective restaurant accounts in Canada. This team consists of Sales Managers, Regional Account Executives, Inside Sales Account Executives, inbound, vendor, and marketing sales teams. The SMB Sales team educates restaurants on the value of partnering with DoorDash.


About The Role


As the Head of Canada’s SMB Sales team, you will own the sales performance, hiring, retention, job satisfaction (i.e. NPS), and team development for all of Canada's pre-sales (prospect to close) organisation. You will expand leadership initiatives across the broader Canada sales organisation. You have a history of winning in the Canadian market, by developing multiple sales channels, including self-serve (inbound) leads. You will oversee and develop sales team members, from sales development to closing roles. You will lead a multi-layered sales group, where you will mentor and uplevel our current sales leaders. You will report into the Senior Director of Pre-Sales in our core DoorDash Sales organisation.

  • Live to build. We are far from done building at DoorDash. You will build teams by recruiting Regional Merchant Leads, Strategic Merchant Leads, and Sales Managers, while building programs aimed at growing our people, and building sales functions and motions that increase our productivity.
  • Drive bar-raising performance. We operate under a quarterly Objective and Key Result (OKR) system; it’s the responsibility of our Head of Sales to drive the team’s performance into the green each quarter, surface the voice of the market, and ask for what is needed to get the team back on track when headwinds set us back.
  • Invest in people growth. To achieve multi-generational success, we need to have the strongest talent on our team. We'll get there not only by recruiting the best, but also, you will apply deliberate development efforts to that talent to give them the tools to succeed across individual and team functions.
  • Lead across functions. Beyond leading your team, it will be your responsibility to help your cross-functional partners (such as Merchant Strategy, Sales Ops, Sales Planning, HR, Recruiting, and Finance) relate to the pain points of our merchants and Account Executives. Without obsessing over this pain, we will not move as quickly as we need to to remain empathetic to the needs of our customers.


We're Excited About You Because…


  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in sales or revenue-focused team
  • Comfort with our tech stack, including Salesforce.com, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Outreach.io, Chorus.ai
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience leading and developing sales leaders, such as Sales Senior Managers, Sales Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads, and similar
  • 1+ years of experience driving market share or relevant revenue generation work in the Canadian market
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience leading sales organisations, with direct or dotted line leadership to multidisciplinary sales teams, including outside sales, inside sales, and/or vendor sales
