Emphasys Software PHA Full Time | Permanent | Remote

Emphasys Software PHA is seeking an experienced Director of Development to lead its growing software development teams.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Development will lead multiple development teams tasked with maintaining existing products to guard recurring revenue and will work with leadership to research areas for new product development, effectively growing the division. To be successful at these two core tasks, the Development Manager should be comfortable engaging developers, architects, and product owners.

The Director of Development will have the following primary responsibilities:

• Build high-performing software development teams
• Work closely with leadership to create a division-wide strategy for the PHA Division
• Establish Agile practices that focus on the customer and deliver value quickly
• Engage architects and product owners to implement the product roadmap through development activities
• Narrate key milestones of the divisional strategy through the product roadmap
• Lead in technology research & support activities
• Define release criteria, cadence, and processes so that our clients experience consistent levels of quality

Requirements

• Experience managing and forecasting development-related financials
• Proven experience delivering complex software projects and solutions effectively through Agile methodologies on a regular release cadence
• A core ability and judgment to arbitrate on development decisions to balance risk, cost, time and quality
• Experience with all aspects of personnel management including development, performance reviews, training, mentoring and disciplinary action
• Experience working and collaborating cross-functionally and cross-organizationally on strategic objectives and leading through influence
• Experience with CI/CD deployment of on-premises and cloud solutions
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack software development
• 2+ years of direct resource/team management
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities to deliver projects on schedule
