DIRECTOR OF RETAIL OPERATIONS

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for mentoring and engaging our store teams in the areas of best practices, SOPs and training as well as ensuring the effective collaboration between operations and purchasing teams to ensure peak operations. The Director of Retail Operations is responsible for overseeing key aspects of the retail operation. This includes developing, implementing, and managing procedures, policies, and systems that support the overall sales strategy and customer retail experience. The role requires an experienced leader who can effectively motivate and manage teams across several retail locations consistently. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Overall:

• With the support of your direct report, the Operational Improvements Manager, you will work in a collaborative way to improve training needs, supporting their work to ensure training is appropriate and beneficial to achieve operational success
• Regularly assess store performance, conduct store visits, and review key performance indicators (KPIs), providing guidance and mentoring when opportunities are present
• You will build tactical strategies that align with the overall direction and growth of the company and with the goal to drive the achievement of business objectives
• As the Director of Retail Operations you will be a strong leader in communicating, representing, and upholding Nature's Fare Markets' Core Values, mission and brand pillars
• You will play a major role in developing, communicating and executing the strategic vision, goals, and the specific objectives for our stores, in alignment with the overall Nature's Fare Markets objectives - including but not limited to financial, sales targets, customer experience, merchandising, demos, events and community involvement
• You will bring a keen eye for detail to the task of creating and maintaining consistency across all of our locations
• Lead and champion a customer and team member focused approach across the organization, emphasizing the importance of exceptional customer service and delivering an outstanding customer and team member experience
• You will ensure all locations are up to date with all necessary and auxiliary equipment including procurement, maintenance and support

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Overall Store operations
• Sales and sales metrics
• Consistency through all locations
• Demonstration Program and Community and In Store events
• Merchandising
• Equipment Procurement and maintenance including refrigeration
• Focus on the customer and team member experience.
• Executive team member
• Working daily with Corporate Merchandising to ensure we have the right products on shelves while mitigating gaps and missed sales opportunities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Ability to navigate and analyze within retail operations software
• Ideal "home base" for this role would be in the Okanagan within driving distance to our Vernon Head Office, but we are willing to consider a hybrid remote (within BC) location for the ideal candidate
• Confident understanding of retail POS/ERP systems
• Demonstrated operational execution skills
• Experience managing people in a customer service industry is a must
• Demonstrated strategic operations planning skills
• Highly organized, confident and candid communicator with the keen ability to engage teams for performance
• 8+ years of experience in an operations manager or retail operations related role
• Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the store including mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and long/unusual hours
• Experience managing budgets and financials
• Strong technical knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite
