About The Role

Reporting to the People Director (Operations), you will business partner the Operations Director and lead a team of seven exceptional Regional People Managers, as well as a Talent and Employee Relations field team, who oversee our people teams across 248 stores. You'll enable collaboration between the People team and the business, partnering with leaders to implement people strategies that support our wider business aims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and development to support career growth and drive employee engagement in our stores.
  • Proactively drive a customer-first culture by leading workforce planning, talent acquisition, and effective talent management strategies to attract top talent, ensure a strong leadership pipeline, and drive organisational success in our retail stores .
  • Work closely with key stakeholders in central functions to represent Retail and drive the People plan
  • You will maintain an effective understanding of People and Retail Industry best practices to promote high performance of the Retail Leadership Teams.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy for the South retail operation, aligned with our vision and values. Lead the development of policies and initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and drive high performance in our stores.
  • Coach and develop the wider leadership team ensuring everyone is working collaboratively and provide a great environment for our colleagues and customers
Requirements
About You
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation, particularly with senior leaders
  • Able to lead complex and sometimes difficult change with pace, passion and a thoughtful approach
  • Proven experience as a senior HR leader, preferably as a Head of People or similar role, ideally within a retail or hospitality environment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align HR strategies with organisational and store-specific goals.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach and develop a high-performing HR team.
  • Ability to analyse HR data and metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement within store operations.
