We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations, reporting directly to our VP, Operations based in Toronto. You will oversee the work of the Business Consultants together with the Ontario and Atlantic Region, supporting our franchisees in making their restaurant and business dreams come true! You will provide strategic restaurant operating direction in alignment with the company's vision, values and culture, through support and coaching of the Business Consultants while facilitating restaurant operations to achieve annual operating budget goals and company sales targets.
As The Director Of Operations, You Will
  • Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Be a brand champion and the face of our brand to our teams and our guests (show passion for food and brand).
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management, employees and franchisees in order to support collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development for staff in each of your restaurants within the region.
  • Be responsible for all Devilishly Good Service initiatives that are in place.
  • Coordinate with the Business Intelligence team to identify operational efficiencies to drive customer satisfaction as well as top line sales.
  • Ensure all reports are completed as required by you and the franchisees.
  • Travel throughout Ontario and the Atlantic region is a necessaryaspect of this role.
  • Be able to create action plans on areas of opportunity for each restaurant to drive desired results.
  • Coordinate with members of development team and related departments to assure new restaurants open successfully and in a timely manner.
  • Recommend and monitor operating policies and procedures to ensure that the restaurants are operated efficiently, consistently, and within guidelines with respect to customer experience, sales, restaurant appearance, staffing, inventory management, and financial control.
  • Lead regular one-on-one performance discussions with each Business Consultant and support development plans for each.
  • Analyze profit and loss statements to find opportunities for cost-effectiveness and profitability to drive optimal EBITDA.
  • Create business objectives and financial targets for Business Consultants through the use of business analytics.
  • Ensure all franchisees and teams keep to the highest possible standards as set by St. Louis home office.
  • Ensure implementation and execution of all marketing and training programs, new product rollouts and incentives.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the market so that you can maintain competitive awareness.
  • Set sales and operational expectations for your group of restaurants, and ensure those goals and expectations are achieved through regular monitoring.
  • Manage and assume overall responsibility for the success of restaurants in your region by directing all operational aspects and driving sales whilst minimizing costs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 6 years of leadership management experience, ideally with a franchisor business within the restaurant or retail industry.
  • Effective oral and written communication is required for interactions at all levels.
  • Ability to understand business metrics for application and creation of strategic goals for franchisees to improve operations.
  • Strong people leadership & coaching experience with the ability to problem solve while communicating effectively with all key stakeholders and guests.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of operational specialists.
  • Post secondary degree (Business or Hospitality ideal).
  • Ability to deal with unexpected work demands, changes to deadlines and high pressure.
  • Strategic thinking & planning abilities with the ability to implement plans through to execution.
