Your New Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Director of Finance will provide both financial and organizational leadership to the internal team that will contribute to future success and growth for the organization. As Director you will a key member in sculpting the strategic direction and developing a plan in line with the organizations overall goals to enhance continued growth.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage all facets of property sales.
• Collaborate closely with the Property Managers, maintaining property budgets and reconciliations.
• Ensure year-end financial statements are prepared in a timely manner and promptly submitted to external accountants.
• Ensure monthly financials and consolidated financial statements are completed on time.
• Actively monitor operational areas primed for enhancement and develop strategic recommendations to optimize efficiency.
• Drive the evolution and enhancement of the strategic and investment planning process, aligning it seamlessly with the company's overall business strategy.
• Thoroughly assess business opportunities such as acquisitions or investments, analyzing their financial viability to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
• Provide monthly cash flow analysis to the CFO and MD offering valuable insights.
• Continuously improving technological systems and trainings to maximize overall performance.
• Collaborate closely with the leadership team, offering advice, valuable insights, and recommendations to ensure timely and relevant budget preparation.
• Conduct monthly and yearly reconciliation of individual property assets
• Provide support to the VP, Finance, in managing the company's tax planning initiatives, including liaising with external advisors as necessary.
• Manage cash flows and working capital through ongoing forecasting and analysis.
• Implement the appropriate metrics throughout the organization to assess financial performance across all sectors.
• Oversee the entire spectrum of accounting related to acquisitions, spanning due diligence, financing, and integration into Yardi.
• Prepare engaging reports to present results to the VP, Finance and MD to assess financial performance and monitor that it is on track with annual goals.
• Provide leadership and mentorship, fostering the growth of the accounting and administration team through regular interactions, feedback, and a focus on their professional development within the company.
• Spearhead the development and presentation of annual operating, capital, and project budgets.
• Compile financial statements, conduct variance analyses, generate forecasts, and prepare concise summary reports for presentation to the Vice President, Finance and Managing Director.

What Sets You Apart
The ideal candidate:

• Possesses a minimum of 10+ years’ experience at the Controller/Management level within commercial/industrial real estate management or a related field.
• A leader with the ability to foster a collaborative environment, with a proven track record of managing and developing your team.
• A post-secondary degree in business, accounting, or a related field, supported by a CPA designation.
• Analytical thinker with a focus on business development, demonstrated through experience with complex financing, acquisitions, due diligence and lender relations.
