Senior Manager, Real Estate Finance (Vancouver) (2023-2273)

You have experience arranging financing for land acquisitions, residential and commercial developments and income property term loans. You are financially savvy and understand what a capital stack is, how to navigate a proforma and what impacts financial return metrics. A team player, you check your ego at the door, roll up your sleeves and do what needs to get done. You have strong communication skills and are able to convey your message clearly and concisely.

You will be

• Presenting loan opportunities to lenders
• Analyzing loan offers and terms
• Negotiating deal structure that aligns with the capital needs of the project/ property
• Working with real estate teams and the project accountants to ensure proformas have appropriate capital stack and debt assumptions
• Sourcing, negotiating and funding loans:
• Managing the loan funding process - working with lawyers and consultants, ensuring funding conditions are met on a timely basis
• Managing all aspects of debt financing for a portfolio of real estate assets - multi-family residential and mixed-use development projects and commercial properties throughout BC and Alberta
• Reviewing and negotiating loan documentation
• Understanding project funding requirements and, working with the Finance House Team, structuring debt financing to meet project funding needs
• Preparing financing presentations
• Managing and compiling information requests from lenders – managing annual loan reviews, reviewing loan documentation and financial statements, preparing economic summaries and rent rolls

You have

• A University degree or diploma in Real Estate, Business or Finance
• An understanding of real estate fundamentals, e.g. valuation principles, commercial leases, the development approval process
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work both in teams and independently
• An eye for detail
• A strong working knowledge of Excel
• Experience working with proformas and underwriting deals
• 5 - 7 years real estate finance experience (as a lender/ banker, commercial mortgage broker or in a similar position working for a real estate development/ investment company)
