Curtis-Villar Chartered Professional Accountants is growing and looking for the next outstanding team member to join us! Your role on the team will include a variety of responsibilities working with a wide range of exciting clientele – the small to medium sized businesses that are driving Ontario’s economy. You will be responsible to effectively manage, establish, control, optimize and direct all support activities for Curtis-Villar. You will ensure that implementation of the business support function & strategy. You will provide leadership and for mentoring to the existing team. At Curtis-Villar, our strength is the efficiency with which we deliver on our products, services and internal innovations. The business manager will manage daily activities, supervise workflow and push toward financial and operational objectives. The business manager will have a can-do attitude and be ready to jump in to assist where needed. This could be with client communications, assisting with the collection of documents, following up on outstanding items, scheduling meetings (internally and externally), identifying training opportunities for the team, updating clients on status of their files, providing assistance internally and externally with our client portal, and submitting documents to CRA.
As a key member of the team, you will be accountable for taking ownership of tasks related to our clients and identifying opportunities/issues to be addressed. You will be responsible to bring ideas to meetings and to provide solutions that positively impact our team and workflows.
To provide the most up to date experience we are embracing cloud based applications and automation to free us up for the exciting, high-value work our clients are looking for.
While the main location of this position is the Guelph office, this individual will also be expected to work in the Fergus office.

Effective and professional communication is your calling card. You aim to provide client service and partner with clients and colleagues in achieving their goals. You are confident enough to develop internal and external relationships and build rapport with team members, business partners and clients. You are excited about being exposed to new technology and you understand that client’s needs are rapidly changing how and what we do. You want to be at the forefront of this movement. You have experience using a variety of programs. Some examples of programs we used are (but not limited to) QuickBooks Online, Xero, Caseware, TaxPrep, Dext, iFirm, etc.
