Analyst, Business & Customer Insights, Brampton, ON


We are looking for an individual with a strong analytical and computer programming skills to join us better understand customer behaviour across the various businesses at Loblaw. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive insights across the enterprise working with the data from the largest Loyalty program in Canada.


As the Analyst in the Business & Customer Insights team, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for providing objective, value-added analysis and recommendations to facilitate discussions & decisions related to high profile loyalty initiatives. The Analyst will work with various business partners in the Enterprise on analytics, insights, reporting, and measurement to help with these ongoing initiatives.


What You'll Do:


  • Generate meaningful insights to solve business problems, identify new opportunities and drive strategy.
  • Work with various business stakeholders on requests and questions into analytical problems. Requests can be strategic or tactical in nature, including but not limited to targeting, segmentation, list generation and automation, development of dashboards, reports, measurement, and data modeling
  • Synthesize large amounts of data from multiple sources, including customer transaction data, consumer & syndicated research, market share, and campaign results. Extrapolate and interpret appropriate information to deliver value-added recommendations
  • Responsible for the extraction, review, and preparation of complex operational and customer behavior information from a variety of databases (SQL, GCP, etc).
  • Build presentations to clearly articulate insights, while simplifying complex data and processes for various levels of audiences including senior management


What You Bring:


  • Curiosity and willingness to ask clarifying questions to navigate ambiguity, while being a strong self-starter
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, intermediate knowledge of SQL, basic knowledge of Python, R is an asset
  • Ability to synthesize large amount of data into insights
  • Previous experience in similar data or analytics roles an asset
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable collaborating within cross-functional team
  • Excellent organization ability to stay on top of a multifaceted and fast paced business, while leading multiple assignments at a time
  • University Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Business or other relevant field
