Exhale Aerosystems Inc. is a CleanTech start-up company based in Whitby, Ontario. We are developing a suite of mobile direct air capture systems for vehicles, to operate on trains, trucks, aircraft and more. Our technology can collectively capture CO2 by the megatonne and will help accelerate the growth of the carbon utilization industry through substantial contributions of carbon negative CO2.
*IMPORTANT: This is a remote work opportunity, however, the candidate should be located close enough for infrequent commuting in the Greater Toronto Area.
We are looking for a motivated and driven Business Development Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in business and a passion for learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching potential clients, helping to develop and implement marketing strategies, and providing administrative support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to gain experience in the business world and learn more about our emerging industry.
Responsibilities:
- Research potential markets, clients, and strategic partners.
- Update company website and social channels, and keep internal databases organized and up to date
- Create various high-quality media content including website copy, social media posts, client/partner presentations, email campaigns, video scripts, and more
- Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential clients and partners.
- Identify suitable fundraising opportunities and collaborate on submissions.
- Participate in networking events and industry conferences.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of the climate crisis with a desire to contribute to solving this global problem. Understanding of Direct Air Capture (DAC) and Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) fundamentals is an asset.
- Strong research skills.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable public speaking, presenting, and conversing, even in spontaneous situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or similar design software is an asset.
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated (past 3 years) from a post-secondary program related to business development.
- Preferred experience: business development, B2B marketing, graphic design.

Additional Considerations:
- This position will require full-time hours for the remainder of the month of June, with potential for overtime. Hours for July and August are part-time at 20-25 hours/week.
- This position allows flexible work hours, but the candidate is expected to attend all required meetings (usually Mon-Fri between 9am and 4pm). Meetings are primarily online, but could be in-person in the GTA or surrounding region.
- Potential for full-time employment in a permanent position will be assessed at the end of August (if the candidate has completed their studies).
- The candidate will be expected to attend a 3-day conference in Toronto at the end of June, but will otherwise be working remotely from home. Candidates must have the ability to commute to/from the conference.
Contract length: 3 months
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week
Salary: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
