Business Development Coordinator Jobs

If so, we want you on our Economic Development team! This position works in partnership with the Manager of Economic Development and local stakeholders to facilitate a healthy, dynamic and sustainable community economy by supporting existing businesses and encouraging appropriate new business investment.

As The Successful Candidate, You Will

• Promote the Central Okanagan Region and the RDCO's EDC through the use of online marketing, events, community presentations, publications, and press releases.
• Contribute to the financial management of EDC budgets by coordinating applications for provincial and federal funding programs and project budgets for assigned projects.
• Contribute to the Operational Planning Process by taking input from stakeholders, providing industry sector and demographic data reports and drafting the annual RDCO EDC Operational plan.
• Liaise with and represent the Economic Development Commission (EDC) with local stakeholders, government and service provider agencies in order to promote collaborative participation in economic development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Business or Communications and three years of related experience, ideally with non-profits, start-ups, private, and government organizations. You will like to take ownership of projects within the scope of your role and be proactive in your approach to your work. You will have excellent communication skills, project management skills and business acumen. The ability to positively represent the RDCO and use your own discretion and good judgement while working with community stakeholders is critical to the success of this role.
