Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to assist in the delivery of our sales efforts across Small Business BC’s sponsorship and partnership deliverables. This role is responsible for providing support to the Business Development department.
Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, this position is primarily responsible for sourcing community sponsorships and monitoring the fulfillment of all Business Development contracts. It will also support in providing marketing collateral to promote the value of partnership with Small Business BC to future partners, including sales proposals, reporting, and responding to inbound advertisement inquires.
The interconnected nature of SBBC's departments requires a dynamic and organized person to support new and existing partner relationships, bringing them into our community and ensuring the achievement of our shared goals.
JOB DUTIES AND TASKS
1. Coordinates and administers existing and new relationship agreements as presented by Business Development ensuring contract deliverables are scheduled and all internal departments are prepared for fulfilment throughout the life of the contracts
a. Reviews, schedules, communicates, and monitors contractual obligations for various departments to execute as needed in Asana
b. Works collaboratively across all departments to coordinate fulfillment of sponsor benefits; ensuring that sponsors are receiving top value for their investments
c. Builds and develops relationships with external sponsors over the course of service delivery where needed, either directly or in collaboration with the Business Development team.
d. Creates and updates routine sponsor impact reports and distributes to sponsors as needed
e. Monitors sponsors’ and partners’ business activities to provide updates for the BD team
f. Coordinates fulfillment of sponsorships from start to finish, in collaboration with the Business Development team.
g. Coordinates both internal and external meetings.
2. In collaboration with the Director of Partnerships and the Account Manager, seeks out new business development opportunities for Small Business BC
a. Actively pursues all new leads and referrals for potential sponsors
b. Maintains relationships with current sponsors and ensure that their expectations are being met
c. Drafts contracts and Contracts for sponsors and advertisers
d. Assists in the creation of sponsorship package materials;
e. Creates deliverables checklists for all sponsors
f. Creates and monitors Business Development contract deliverables within Asana
g. Assists in the creation of proposals, MOUs, quotations, and responses to RFPs.
h. Responds appropriately to requests from other organizations to collaborate on projects or the delivery of services.
3. Manages the SBBC digital advertisement accounts
a. Actively pursues all new leads and referrals for potential digital ads and turns this into increased business
b. Plans persuasive approaches and pitches that will appeal to prospects
c. Manages ongoing relationship with digital ad clients from providing information in the initial stages to drafting reports at the end of the contract
d. Communicates digital ad information with prospects including price, statistics, creative and general recommendations
e. Processes payments, schedules advertisements in the social media & newsletter calendar and manages ongoing accounts.
4. Manages all in-kind Contracts for SBBC in order to increase exposure and manage cost recovery
a. Seeks out and cultivate targeted relationships with organizations who can collaborate with Small Business BC to increase service capacity to British Columbians
b. Responds appropriately to requests from other organisations to collaborate on projects or the delivery of services
c. Drafts contra/in-kind proposals in pursuit of new sponsorship contracts
5. In collaboration with the Director of Partnerships, contributes to the creation and execution of the Business Development Department’s fiscal strategy
a. Records all revenue in the Business Development Department for quarterly and end-of-year reporting
b. Tracks budgets within the Business Development Department
c. Accumulates statistics and generate reports to show project outcomes
6. Responds to stakeholder enquiries
a. Responds to phone, email and written enquiries from potential sponsors and current stakeholders;
b. Prioritizes stakeholder needs and responds in a timely and appropriate manor
c. Coordinates communications with sponsors to discuss sponsorship opportunities
7. Contributes to the organization's Relationship Management System
a. Enters sponsor and stakeholder contact and interaction information into the society’s CRM;
b. Looks-up stakeholder interaction history if necessary to provide better service to sponsors
c. Maintains the integrity of CRM data through monitoring of stakeholder data.
8. Promotes Small Business BC through outreach activities and represents the SBBC at promotional activities such as tradeshows and events
a. Maintains a working knowledge of all Small Business BC products and services in order to properly inform stakeholders and deliver selected services;
b. Exhibits on behalf of Small Business BC when appropriate;
c. Establishes monthly, and quarterly redemption reports for pre-purchase orders to provide community partners with awareness of the consumption of the clients services within their service agreement and provide suggested strategies to increase consumption
d. Builds and strengthen sponsor relationships, identify new community strategies, and generate sponsor growth
e. Assists with development of communication tools, materials and presentations targeted to stakeholders and partners;
9. Works with the business development team to generate new business development leads and opportunities for the organization
a. Understands Small Business BC’s current market priorities to source leads and build appropriate relationships;
b. Identifies business opportunities and areas for collaboration and promotion with current stakeholders and prospects
c. Determines which organizations to target and prioritize various opportunities;

QUALIFICATIONS
A degree or diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Management, Small Business Entrepreneurship, and sales administration experience, or an equivalent blend of education and business related experience.
• Experience in business administration and sales;
• Experience in maintaining and coordinating schedules;
• Experience in contract management and fulfillment and/or organizing and coordinating projects
• Demonstrated experience working with corporations, professional groups, government agencies, special interest groups and service providers;
• Experience with working in an executive office environment and managing sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy and good judgment.
• Understanding of effective sales procedures;
• Understanding of contract fulfillment and tracking processes;
• Entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent selling and negotiation skills;
• Strong project management and time management skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;

• Strong computer skills in MS Office, Outlook, Asana, Slack, Fellow and Salesforce CRM;
• Ability to work in French is considered an asset, as well as additional languages (Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese or Farsi)
• Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative.

• Remuneration: BCGEU Level: Range 14, Step 1; $2055.21 bi-weekly (non-negotiable). (Small Business BC is not a government department; however, this position is a part of the BC Government Employees Union)
