Duties


The Business Development Associate (BDA) is accountable for effective coordination, management, efficiency, quality, and success of the group of company's client outreach and maintenance including marketing material, tradeshows, proposal, branding etc.


The BDA is responsible for the development, establishment, and maintenance of marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. Effective management of the marketing, advertising, promotional, and business development activities of the organization. The BDA is also responsible for working with the Project Management/ Sales team to ensure the efficient use of marketing efforts.


The role also has significant responsibility for developing and maintaining business relationships and increasing profitable sales revenue for all divisions.


The BDA is accountable for communicating with the Sales Manager, as required, to ensure appropriate resources, budgets and support requirements are available and/or in line with the company's goals.


Business Development Associate Responsibilities


  • Overseeing and participating in promotional activities including tradeshows and networking events to develop and share business knowledge and develop future business for the company. This includes the orchestration of the company's Sales team throughout the event's duration.
  • Develops proposals and cost estimates with input from company specialists and Senior Manager, for the purpose of increasing business for the Group of Companies.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities for the company to Senior Management
  • Working in conjunction with the Sales Manager to research and develop potential First Nations partnerships.
  • Actively develop the company brand; including the rejuvenation, expansion and maintenance of: corporate website, company literature, promotional materials, presentations and equipment branding.
  • Managing and creation of all advertising aspects, including mass and target marketing campaigns via print, internet (social media) and electronic mediums (html).
  • Working with developers, advertisers, Senior/ Project Managers to formulate, direct, and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote the company's drilling services.
  • Coordinating/leading/generating events including hospitality events to build upon the company's client database and new and existing client relationships.

  • Champions the creation of the corporate newsletter - Geotimes.
  • Managing corporate sponsorship and donations.
  • Monitoring and development of department budget, ensuring all marketing activities are completed within the approved budget; and brings additional opportunities outside the approved budget, with a business plan, to the attention of Senior Management for consideration.
  • Managing promotional gifts for both internal and external (client) usage.
  • Development and tracking of customer satisfaction metrics, including the measurement of customer satisfaction post project completion.


Qualifications


  • Works well under pressure and performs well within tight deadlines.
  • 3 + years' experience in a marketing role within an industrial setting.
  • Willingness to travel for tradeshows and business development events
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics Nav experience is considered an asset.
  • Confident and able to maintain professional dialogue in busy networking settings.
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business management or related field.
  • Experience in the drilling industry considered a strong asset.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with proposals, estimates & work plans considered an asset.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
