Job Title: Business Development Associate – Walmart & Loblaws

Position Summary:

This position will focus on managing and growing our business relationships with Walmart and Loblaws, two of the largest retail chains in Canada. As a Business Development Associate, you will report directly to Mainstream Sales Head and play a crucial role in driving profitability, growing portfolio, increasing market share, and establishing Al Safa Foods as a trusted brand in the Canadian market.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to drive sales and distribution in Walmart and Loblaws accounts
  • Work closely with the Mainstream Sales Head to account for any changes in demand and reflect that in sales forecast.
  • Promoting/selling/securing orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Conduct regular sales analysis, generate reports, and provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the relevant on-ground business-related matters, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing and new product development, to align strategies and launch new products or promotions.
  • Effectively work with stores in driving sales through existing product and upcoming product lines.
  • Product Demonstration of existing and new products to current/potential customers and assisting them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, shoppers’ preferences, pricing, new products and regulatory changes that may impact Al Safa Foods' business with Walmart and Loblaws.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand Al Safa Foods' product presence and distribution within Walmart and Loblaws stores across Ontario and rest of Canada.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), sales performance, pricing, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Merchandizing Items in store – to ensure maximum visibility on shelf.
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions to promote Brand and Products
  • Plan and execute the plans to achieve monthly and years KPIs
  • Develop and nurture strong working relationships with key stakeholders at Walmart and Loblaws stores, including store managers and department associates.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and consumer insights.
  • Proficiency in using Walmart Retail Link and Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to develop strategic and collaborative relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in business development, key account management, retail sales or distribution within the CPG industry.
  • Experience of working with Walmart and Loblaws banners shall be preferred
  • Ability to Lift weight up to 15 Kgs.
  • Valid driver’s license & Possession of own Vehicle
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing business relationships with major retailers, preferably Walmart and Loblaws.
