Reporting to the Manager, Admissions, the incumbent is responsible for the administration and activity related to the admissions process for domestic students. The incumbent must make decisions, participate in communicating information and requesting documents in order to complete applications and ensure sufficient applications to fill programs. As a subject matter expert on admission assessments, program eligibility and transfer credit, the incumbent assesses admissions applications for an assigned portfolio of academic programs. This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless experience for students in order to support the College meeting its domestic enrolment targets. The incumbent helps to realize enrolment and conversion goals by ensuring timely processing, strong communication and effective relationships with students and program coordinators. The incumbent supports process improvements within processing and participates in debriefs and review meetings with their academic coordinators every semester. The incumbent is responsible for accurately processing transfer of credit for all students at the College. As the subject matter expert in Domestic Admissions and transfer of credit the incumbent acts as a resource for the Enrolment Service Representatives, the Registration and Records team, the Recruitment team, the Test Centre, Academic Upgrading, the Experience Worker Centre, Student Success Specialists, Program Chairs and Program Coordinators.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) year post-secondary Diploma; Business Administration, Public Administration or equivalent;
  • Sound computer and keyboarding skills including experience with the MS Office Suite;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Minimum three (3) years progressive office experience in a student service environment or Registrar's Office preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and well developed listening skills;
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated and proven planning skills and decision-making abilities;
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships, supporting the teamwork structure both internal and external to the unit;
  • Training is to be completed on Campus (Ottawa)
  • Ability to respect confidentiality;
  • Experience with Admissions and Registration in a post-secondary institution would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to identify, participate and implement lean process improvements;
