Raymond EMC Enclosures Ltd. designs, manufactures, installs, and tests RF Shielded Enclosures, Anechoic Chambers and RF Shielded Components. We are looking for a full-time R&D Engineering Associate to join our Engineering and Design department to work on ongoing Research & Development (R&D) projects. Raymond EMC, located in Ottawa, is a rapidly growing company with a fun, energetic and fast-paced work environment. Under the direction of the Innovation and Engineering Research Lead, the successful candidate will contribute to the full-cycle development of novel products to expand Raymond EMC’s current offering. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical design, 3D CAD modelling and prototype testing.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide scope of tasks by following a project from design to commercialization. The candidate will also get exposure to radio-frequency (RF) testing, manufacturing processes, intellectual property management and will have the opportunity to help publish research findings.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performs development activities including the design, prototyping, testing and documentation of new products under the direction of the R&D team lead
- 3D modelling of prototypes using computer-aided design (CAD) software (SolidWorks)
- Researching and comparing vendors and fabricators
- Producing engineering drawings for manufacturing
- Supporting the development of intellectual property
- Drafting and organizing project documentation
- Conducting mechanical and radio-frequency (RF) testing for design verification and validation
- Occasional engineering calculations
Qualifications and Skills:
Required
- Passion for problem-solving and thinking outside the box
- Possession or ability to achieve Top Secret (TS) clearance with Canadian Government organizations
- Strong communication skills (verbal/written)
- Ability to work independently and within a diverse team of engineers, executives, contractors, and manufacturing staff
- 1-3 years of related experience in engineering or research
- Demonstrated experience in creative engineering design
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Computer-aided design (CAD) skills (SolidWorks preferred)
- Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
Assets
- Research experience including conference or journal paper publications
- Experience drafting and organizing project documentation
- Experience with R&D and product development
- Interest and knowledge of electromagnetics and RF shielding
- Aptitude for mechanical engineering design
- Understanding of design for manufacture

Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
