Junior Software Engineer Jobs

Description: The role is for a junior developer who will be expected to quickly scale up to take on multiple responsibilities within a cashflow-positive medium-sized start-up in the AEC industry. The client company is a reputable start-up that has won sizable grants from the CMHC and is looking to revamp its technology department.

Roles: Familiarization with and taking on of 3-tier application development, DevOps and cloud infrastructure maintenance/extension work with 1:1 coaching available from the technical lead (myself). Attend meetings with stakeholders and work with both the Scrum master and the technical lead (myself) to plan sprints and milestone goals within a properly managed Agile Scrum team.

Requirements: The technical stack is Node.js/TypeScript/React.js with the Node.js component being slowly replaced with a serverless architecture hosted on Azure function apps. However, knowledge of this stack is not necessary. Nor is prior work experience. But strong programming and math fundamentals are a must: OO design (UML), OO/procedural/functional programming concepts, data structures and algorithms. Some linear Algebra required as currently we are using 2D GIS and later on we will be deploying Keras models and working with 3D GIS (which necessitates grasp of 3D rendering/geometry.)
