AGS is looking for a Junior Quality Engineer to join our dynamic organization.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, Operations & Maintenance, the Junior Quality Engineer will coordinate the activities of all inspectors within the Product Realization cycle. This includes assuring Auditors (in staff positions in other disciplines) will audit work instructions / documentation compliance, compliance to statistical in process requirements and product compliance to TS16949 Customer/Internal technical specifications.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• Be an active member of all Preliminary Material Reviews for Internal, Supplier, or Customer Non-Conformances.
• Comply with all Company safety policies, procedures and rules.
• Ensure all shop floors SPC/SQC measuring equipment is calibrated to ISO/TS16949 requirements.
• Participate as an active member of the Product Development Team (PDT).
• Conduct ISO/TS 16949 and internal audits under the direction of the Quality Engineering Technician.
• Assist with PPAP activities
• Weekly / monthly operational reporting to management
• Train Employees in audit activities, standards, procedures, and ISO System requirements.
• Review SPC/SQC requirements with the team and ensure all employees are following established procedures.
• Assist APQP/Liaison Quality department in establishing and implementing boundary samples on all internal product lines.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Liaison sorting activities with customer / supplier with aim to contain nonconforming product.
• Ensure inspectors utilize and comply with TS16949 system requirements follow up on corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure NMR, Alert, and Corrective Action procedures are adhered to.
• Quoting/purchasing activities with suppliers/vendors for the quality department
• Assist Production in training and implementation of all quality standards throughout the plant.
• Actively participate in corrective action reviews and meetings.
• Conduct layered in-house audits on all systems and processes.
• Generate reports on audit findings, NMR charge back, non-conformance trends and corrective action.

Employment Requirements

• Knowledge of TS 16949 system requirements considered an asset.
• Required to adhere to and comply with environmental, health and safety rules/policies as related to the job function and business conduct guidelines.
• Good interpersonal skills both oral and written.
• Sound problem solving skills, e.g. 5-why, 8D and 5S.
• Travel as required to perform customer and/or internal requirements or job functions.
• Understanding of automotive part sampling.
• College diploma or certificate in Quality or equivalent experience.
