Adecco is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our clients team in Sarnia, ON. This is a Contract role. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and ensuring the engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of projects. You'll collaborate closely with both internal and external teams to drive excellence in mechanical engineering within the industry.
Location: Sarnia, ON
Shifts: Monday-Friday 40 hours/week
Job type: 2-year contract
Detailed : As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting capital efficiency in engineering design.
- Communicating and coordinating various issues between the company's and contractor's engineering teams, focusing on discipline engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting internal engineering initiatives as requested by the Supervisor.
- Participating in discipline engineering reviews at Contractor's and subcontractor's locations.
- Evaluating and providing feedback on work performed by contractors and sub-contractors to ensure alignment with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Handling discipline engineering queries and technical information requests.
- Facilitating and coordinating discipline engineering technical work products.
- Identifying and assessing deviations to Contract Technical Specifications and regulatory requirements, managing the Deviation Control Log.
- Keeping the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager informed of discipline engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns.
Candidate's Profile: To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
- Must be local to Sarnia or willing to relocate.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in the oil & gas industry is must.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, especially for technical and business communications.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
