Job Description
Are you a New Grad with a background in Mechanical Industrial or Mechatronics Engineering?
Have you worked on Automation projects during your school projects or internship?
This could be a great opportunity for you!!
Our global client who is a leading brand retail chain in North America is looking to hire new Intern Engineer. This is a hybrid role based in the Toronto or GTA area.
This is a 12 months contract (with possible extension or hired perm)
In this role you will be -
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Create concept layout drawings
  • Modeling of material handling equipment
  • Regulation & code compliance validation
  • Support strategic initiatives & project teams
  • Benchmarking of layout designs (facility, offices, warehouse, MHE, automation)
  • Throughput calculations

Responsibilities
  • Support objectives of Engineering, Material handling equipment, and automation
  • Accountability for quality and accuracy of work
  • Partnership with Global Fulfillment and Global Supply Chain Strategy & Planning teams
  • Adherence to design for scalability, reliability, redundancy, and efficiency
  • Equipment validation support
  • Information gathering
  • Testing support
  • Maintain document repository for Engineering resources
  • Recommendations for optimization and standardization
  • Participate in the development of SharePoint
Qualifications
  • Ability to work in the warehouse, standing and walking for several hours at a time
  • Strong communications skills with other internal team members, including ability to build relationships with key business partner and other stakeholders
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical or Industrial)
  • Independent and motivated
  • Strong curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Well organized and structured, meeting all timelines as agreed
  • Ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines and budgets
  • Adhere to all safety regulations including wearing personal protective equipment as needed
  • Ability to travel to local offices up to 3 days per week
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to thrive in a growing environment with evolving structure and fast-paced workload
  • Strong MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and eagerness to learn
  • High level of AutoCAD proficiency
