The Opportunity:

WSP’s Building M&E Team is currently seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Technologist/Designer to join our Tenant Fit-up team, located at Ottawa office. Reporting to our Fit-up Manager, the Candidate will be responsible for design drawings in AutoCAD, with some Revit 3D modeling, and BIM360 services on various projects.

A day in the life:

• Perform individually or as a team member with mechanical and electrical disciplines and under direct supervision of engineers and project managers;
• Other duties as assigned/required.
• Preparing AutoCAD drawings (must be able to manipulate multiple xrefs) and/or Revit 3D modeling for both mechanical and electrical systems;
• Willing to learning both building mechanical and electrical engineering requirements. Exposure to Ontario Building Code (OBC), CSA standards, Electrical Safety Authority, and ASHRAE standards for Building design;
• Basic mechanical and electrical design for (HVAC) systems, Domestic water and sanitary piping, Storm Piping, Natural Gas, fire protection, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and security systems for various types of projects;

What You'll Bring To WSP ...

• Enthusiastic, eager to learn, detail oriented, organized, hard worker, and team player attitude;
• Familiarity with software used for engineering studies – HAP Load, equipment selections, lighting design, power systems layout, etc. is an asset.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member to deliver comprehensive designs and meet the deadlines;
• Interpersonal skills with team members and other disciplines;
• Technologist diploma with a Mechanical / Electrical Engineering focus or equivalent experience;
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit 3D;
• Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English;
