Job Description

The Company

Sonele is an ISO 13485:2016 and FDA registered manufacturing company that specializes in providing advanced manufacturing and assembly services to high-tech industries, primarily focused in the medical and ultrasound sectors. We are located near Highway 407 and Woodbine Ave in Markham, ON.


The Opportunity

We are looking for a full-time candidate to fill the Mechanical Engineer position who will support the Engineering Manager and engineering team in activities such as mechanical design and drafting, product development, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and engineering documentation.


The selected candidate will also be provided with health benefits with premiums fully paid by the company after probation period. Free parking is available on site.


Responsibilities

  • Develop assembly procedures and other manufacturing documentations as required
  • Participate in design reviews by providing information and insight to designers and engineers
  • Generate 2D mechanical drawings and engineering documents
  • Establish supply chains and purchasing of various raw materials, components and processes
  • Analyze manufacturability, costing and lead times of electro-mechanical systems
  • Work together with the Engineering team, cross functional teams (Service, Manufacturing, Production) as well as suppliers to meet customer deliverables
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Participate in product development and manufacturing activities
  • Design 3D mechanical assemblies and fixtures using SolidWorks


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technologist Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 1-2 years of applicable work experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to on-going changes to suit the needs of the team and/or customers
  • Ability to read and follow mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics and bills of materials, including good knowledge of GD&T
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Fluent communication skills in English
  • Strong experience with 3D CAD software, preferably in SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of different manufacturing processes: CNC Machining, Sheet metal Fabrication, Injection Molding, etc.


Bonus

  • Experience in mechanical designs related to medical devices / products would be an asset
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM would be an asset
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 would be an asset
