Under the VP Engineering and Product Management’s supervision, you will be responsible for the following:

Manage the mechanical prototype lab to enable creation, modification and testing of prototypes

Experience using CAD and CAM packages (i.e. SolidWorks, VisualMILL, WinCNC, SprutCAM, PathPilot, etc.)

Experience using Microsoft® Excel, Word, et al.

Maintenance of lab, test and measurement equipment including CNC router, CNC mill, lathe, FDM machine, environmental chambers and paint spray booth

Design, fabricate and modify experimental test apparatus

Execute mechanical verification test plans

Perform individually or as a team member with mechanical and electrical disciplines and under direct supervision of engineers and project managers;

Technologist diploma with a Mechanical / Electrical Engineering focus or equivalent experience;

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit 3D;

Interpersonal skills with team members and other disciplines;

Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English;

Certified or working towards certification with a provincial professional association for engineering technicians and technologists, such as OACETT.

Creating and maintaining product definition, tooling, process certification, and shop order routings;

Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology;

Minimum of 3 to 6 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment (for Intermediate level);

Experience in sheet metal detail manufacturing, machining components, pneumatic and hydraulic hardware/systems, composite manufacturing, heat treating and forming operations;

Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications;

Experience using CINCOM would be considered an asset.

Collect field data, compile field notes and photographs, file and manage project related data;

Document project activities and complete data entry;

Education: College graduate of an accredited Civil Engineering Technology program;

0 – 10 years experience, with experience with any of the above listed tasks considered an asset;

Knowledge of construction practices and methodology;

Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills;

3 - 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Design of industrial machinery, plant equipment and related systems (e.g. piping, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.)

Knowledge of machining, welding and other fabrication processes, GD&T and material selection.

Design modifications for equipment and machinery and assists in developing improvements in processes and methods.

Produce drawings for new and modified equipment and machinery.

Assist in troubleshooting technical problems and recommend upgrading or modifying existing equipment.

Assist Product Standards Coordinator with configuration of products, bills of materials and associated drawings.

You have at least 2 years of Project Management experience.

You have the ability to work closely with product development, production, and product management teams to continually improve products and practices.

You have Mechanical Engineering Technologist or equivalent experience.

You have at least 2 years of experience in commissioning, maintaining, or installing related equipment.

You have experience with 8D Root Cause Analysis.

You have experience with SolidWorks and CREO software.

Certified or deemed eligible for certification with ASET (or similar association in another province)

0-2 years of relevant work experience

1-2 years of 3D CAD / drafting experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred)

Experience working with Mathcad software is considered an asset

Experience with ASME Section VIII Div 1 and ASME B31.3 codes is considered an asset

Experience with laser scanning technology is considered an asset

Develop skills in planning, communication, and organization

Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate

Manage project execution activities including contracting, construction, and budget and schedule management under supervision of senior engineers

Experience with CRM/ ERP programs. Knowledge of NetSuite considered an asset

Minimum two (2) years of mechanical design or related experience

Working knowledge of AutoCAD with ability to create equipment layout drawings and P&ID drawings

Fluid handling systems experience is an asset

Professional Engineer or Sr. Design Technologist with 7+ years of demonstrated experience in the area of transportation engineering;

Experience with rural & urban roadway design and inter-disciplinary coordination related to roadway and highway projects;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent teamwork skills;

Good understanding of QA / QC as well as OH&S practices / requirements;

Good working knowledge of TAC and BC Supplement to TAC design standards;

Alternative Delivery (DB, P3, etc.) projects experience is an asset; and

Improve your leadership skills in supervising your team and collaborating with colleagues

Experience as a mechanical designer is required

Knowledge of 3D CAD software is required, SolidWorks is an asset

Technologist – Underground Design (Continuous)

Engineering & Public Works Department

Work schedule Monday – Friday, 800am – 430pm, 35 hour work week

$46.65 per hour, Pay Grade 14

Participate in walkdowns of the plant to ensure configuration management is supported.

Comprehensive knowledge of the use of AutoCad

Min 2 years (4,000 hours) drafting experience required; 5-8 years within Power Generation/industrial setting, preferred.

Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities

Prepare bills of material to accompany given drawings.

You will work with in SAP to create new materials, and manage engineering change requests

Experience with both metallic and composite materials and manufacturing is considered an asset
