Mechanical Technologist Jobs

Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical Technologist in the Manufacturing Industry in Calgary, Alberta.

This role will be providing technical support for the Project Engineering Team with 2D layout and P&ID diagrams in AutoCAD, 3D modeling and 2D shop drawings in Onshape. Maintaining an accurate project library and entering project details into the ERP system; supporting the project manager by entering orders into NetSuite and filing out project document templates. Providing design support as needed and being a liaison with customers, supplier representatives and all HMFT team members.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project execution activities including contracting, construction, and budget and schedule management under supervision of senior engineers
• Prepares engineering calculations, estimates, statistics, and minor designs
• Work with technical project manager and assist with project management
• Enter and maintain component records and BOMs in ERP system
• Responsible for the preparation of 3D models and 2D drawings (Onshape & AutoCAD) to support all three divisions
• Performs routine engineering tasks
• Contribute to the development of engineering plans and designs
• Visit manufacturers and customers to ensure quality

Successful candidates will have:

• Proficient in use of 3D CAD solid modeling – Onshape preferred (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or similar acceptable)
• Demonstrated understanding of GD&T and 2D drawings (including weld symbols)
• Minimum two (2) years of mechanical design or related experience
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD with ability to create equipment layout drawings and P&ID drawings
• Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint)
• Fluid handling systems experience is an asset
• Experience with CRM/ ERP programs. Knowledge of NetSuite considered an asset
• Preferred qualifications include post-secondary education in a technical mechanical discipline, a CET designation, or a combination of relevant education and experience in the mechanical industry, specifically with a focus on designing HVAC systems
