Design Technologist Jobs

As a result of expanded growth, MatchBox Consulting is seeking a Drafting Design Technologist in Edmonton for one of our longstanding and well reputable clients who are dedicated to delivering high-quality and innovative solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

You will work alongside Project Teams on Land Development and Public Sector projects, providing CAD drafting and design services. Reporting directly to the Branch/Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare road, underground utility, and grading designs for land development projects
• Assist in training and developing junior team members
• Prepare detailed design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D for a variety of assigned Municipal and land development engineering projects
• Compile as-built records for design and record drawings
• Develop terrain model from topographic survey data
• Prepare quantity take offs and cost estimates
• Work with clients in a professional manner
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary plans and report figures
• Adhere to all company policies, including safety policies
• Contribute to the review of existing processes to determine if any changes can be made to increase efficiencies in field and office procedures
• Other duties that may be assigned as necessary
• Provide technical support to PM, engineers, and designers

Requirements:

• A Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design and Drafting Technology. Equivalent combinations of education and Experience will be considered
• Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office and other general applications), with working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Have strong understanding of local and approving authorities engineering design standards
• 3 years’ experience in lot grading, roadways, sewers and water design in Land Development and Municipal projects
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Currently registered or qualified to register with ASET
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments
• High level of dependability, technical ability, and attention to detail
