Mechanical Engineering Technologist - Design Oversight

The primary focus of this role is to support the Liquids Pipelines (LP) Quality and Management of Change department in the continual improvement of Engineering drawing information through the Quality Enhancement Reporting (QER) program. The role will utilize technical expertise to investigate and provide resolution to complex engineering drawing quality issues and provide drafting support to resolve the issues. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizes industry best practices and established standards to ensure drawings adhere to corporate and professional requirements.
• Interpret and analyze QERs, sketches, drawings, and other documentation to develop accurate and detailed drawings
• Check in and check out drawings through the LP Drawing management system following drawing control practices
• Utilize technical expertise to investigate and verify as-built and as-found engineering information
• Works with internal stakeholders to seek clarity on quality issue submissions
• Create and revise drawings using AutoCAD Software

Qualifications:

• Exhibits great interpersonal skills and works effectively in a team environment.
• Requires strong customer service focus and ability to maintain effective working relationships with broad base of engineering drawing users and editors
• Diploma in an Engineering Technology discipline from a recognized polytechnic institution, or a relevant combination of drafting training and experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with Projects, Operations, and other technical subject matter experts.
• Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
• A minimum of 7 years progressively responsible drafting experience with a large oil and gas operator or engineering service provider.
• Expert drafting skills, with experience in AutoCAD; experience with drawing and CAD standards
