Design Engineering Technologist Purpose And Responsibilities
The Design Engineering Technologist will develop and detail designs for mechanical and structural systems. The successful candidate needs to be comfortable with managing small and large aspects of projects, ensuring jobs are finished on-time and within our high-quality standards.
Responsibilities Of The Design Engineering Technologist Include

• Facilitate release of fabrication drawings to project management and shop operations
• Communicate designs to stakeholders through meetings and technical drawings
• Develop preliminary designs with the project management and design team
• Measure and document as-built site conditions
• Other duties as assigned
• Detail the designs in 3D CAD (Solidworks) and select OEM equipment to integrate with designs
• Drafting of parts and assemblies for fabrication

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience
• Understanding of manufacturing process systems and construction principles
• C.E.T. or C.Tech professional designation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Passion for learning, self-improvement, teamwork, and team development
• Must have experience with 3D CAD software – Solidworks preferred
• Knowledge of steel fabrication, machine shop processes and mechanical system expertise (conveyors, processing equipment, etc.).
• Diploma in Engineering Technology
