Electrical Project Manager – Solar and Design

Calgary, AB

Ideally based in Calgary but open to anywhere in Canada however this is hybrid, part-time in Calgary office.

Under the supervision of the Electrical Director, the Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the follow-up and management of electrical engineering for wind and solar projects in Canada. He also participates to the preparation phase of construction projects, manages the procurement of equipment and develops agreements with major electrical subcontractors.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Ensure the follow-up and management of projects electrical engineering in collaboration with electrical engineering firms;
• Guide all the electrical operations of a project;
• Develop agreements with electrical sub-contractors;
• Participate in project start-up and closing meetings;
• Ensure the procurement of equipment;
• Ensure the follow-up of consultants’ services (drawings, studies, calculation notes, etc.);
• Ensure that project engineering is in accordance with the documents and contractual requirements.
• Analyze contract requirements and make sure to fully understand the client's needs;

Responsibilities, duties and requirements can vary according to the project needs.

Requirements

• PVSyst experience an asset
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering - Power Systems (an asset) or any relevant experience;
• Being able to adapt to high-stress environment and weather fluctuations (construction site)
• Knowledge of Hydro-Québec, Hydro-One, SaskPower, AESO connection processes (an asset);
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
• 3+ years of electrical construction Project Management experience (grid preferred)
• Versatility, autonomy and resourcefulness;
• Solar and Design experience
• 10+ years of experience in the construction of high and medium voltage electrical substations and medium voltage network;
• Team Player and ability to work with remote teams;
• Be available for occasional travel within Canada.
