Our client is a global leader in the construction industry with decades of success in delivering quality projects on time. This company has engaged Jay Pinniger of Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for a Design Manager to join their team in the Greater Edmonton region. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a Design or Drafting background, a track record of success and strong leadership qualities. The Design manager will report to the VP of Manufacturing and will be responsible for leading a team of Design and Drafting Estimators.

You will also be responsible for:

• Assure all projects meet design goals and technical requirements
• Provide all relevant departments with accurate and centrally distributed drawings and specification packages
• Assist and take initiative with identifying areas of improvement, cost savings, and time savings.
• Coordinate all work of the Drafting Team
• Ensure all projects meet required approvals and or related Building Codes
• Execute drawings and specifications for projects in a timely manner
• Provide all relevant departments with required information to assure the timely completion of projects

Qualifications:

• Strong listening & leadership skills
• 4+ year’s experience in engineering, design and drafting with 2D AutoCAD
• University degree or college diploma focused on construction, engineering, or architecture
• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Outlook and Word)
• Ability to communicate, and present at an exceptional level – both written and verbal
• Strategic mindset, with the ability to innovate and implement
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Capable of delivering accurate results in a fast-paced environment
