Averton is an experienced and award-winning homebuilder, community developer and construction management company and we’re looking to add aDrafting Leadto lead our drafting team in the creation of accurate and consistent plans for our current and future projects.
This role will play a key part in executing the company’s drafting efforts by creating plans for site analysis through to unit specific plans, as well as support management withdrafting initiatives and project planning.
As the Drafting Lead, you will be responsible for the following:
- Create 2D and 3D concept drawings
- Staying up to date with the latest software updates /options and new industry trends
- Actively participate in Averton’s safety programs
- Mentor and train all members of the drafting team to increase industry knowledge and individual development and manage the day-to-day operations of the department
- Complete site walk-throughs on a regular basis to ensure site cleanliness and alignment with preconstruction plan, schedule A, and budget
- Review all work releases from the team to ensure accuracy and consistency in plans
- Lead and complete various activities including preliminary site analysis, schematic design, base model plan creations, site specific plan releases
On your resume we will be looking for the following qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential drafting and design
- Knowledge of Alberta Building Code, National building code, and evolving municipal standards
- Excellent understanding of design principles, customer service skills and professionalism
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with BimX is considered an asset
- Post-secondary education in drafting, architecture, architectural technology, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of drafting software, including ArchiCAD or AutoCAD
