Experience in all aspects of a project including the development of requirements specifications/design/prototyping/testing/revision/parts selection and installation

Some knowledge of Transport Canada, FAA or European aircraft design standards and certification processes (asset)

Collaborating in engineering teams with Amtech employees, subcontractors, and clients, offering technical support in structural and mechanical technology

Assisting in achieving ISO standards certification where applicable

Manage the mechanical prototype lab to enable creation, modification and testing of prototypes

Experience using CAD and CAM packages (i.e. SolidWorks, VisualMILL, WinCNC, SprutCAM, PathPilot, etc.)

Experience using Microsoft® Excel, Word, et al.

Maintenance of lab, test and measurement equipment including CNC router, CNC mill, lathe, FDM machine, environmental chambers and paint spray booth

Design, fabricate and modify experimental test apparatus

Execute mechanical verification test plans

Perform individually or as a team member with mechanical and electrical disciplines and under direct supervision of engineers and project managers;

Technologist diploma with a Mechanical / Electrical Engineering focus or equivalent experience;

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit 3D;

Interpersonal skills with team members and other disciplines;

Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English;

Certified or working towards certification with a provincial professional association for engineering technicians and technologists, such as OACETT.

3 - 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Design of industrial machinery, plant equipment and related systems (e.g. piping, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.)

Knowledge of machining, welding and other fabrication processes, GD&T and material selection.

Design modifications for equipment and machinery and assists in developing improvements in processes and methods.

Produce drawings for new and modified equipment and machinery.

Assist in troubleshooting technical problems and recommend upgrading or modifying existing equipment.

Assist Product Standards Coordinator with configuration of products, bills of materials and associated drawings.

Work with technical project manager and assist with project management

Manage project execution activities including contracting, construction, and budget and schedule management under supervision of senior engineers

Experience with CRM/ ERP programs. Knowledge of NetSuite considered an asset

Minimum two (2) years of mechanical design or related experience

Working knowledge of AutoCAD with ability to create equipment layout drawings and P&ID drawings

Fluid handling systems experience is an asset

Ideally higher degree in relevant scientific area and formal project management qualification

Previous management and team leading skills are essential

Demonstrate a high level of strategic project management knowledge of development projects, from conception through all stages of development life cycle

Responsible for the management and leadership of the project managers that report directly to them

The role is accountable for the tracking and reporting of the team KPIs to the Head of Project Management

Project Management order book is up to date, accurate and that variations to the forecasts are managed and reported

Experience with SGML/XML, Documentum or working in a Content Management System (CMS)

Proficient communication, organization and prioritization skills

Collect, organize and store parts data/artifacts in support of approved customer maintenance concept

Obtain Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) source data

Develop/write procedures as part of overall development of Repair Parts and Special Tool List (RPSTL) and/or IETM

Generate accurate illustration request to support RPSTL and IETM development

Create/investigate alternative solutions to meet the producibility requirements

Validate and document the test equipment built to ensure compliance to requirements

5 years minimum experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering

Experience in Elements of RF/Optical package and module design

Experience in Micro optical assemblies, fiber optic processes, optoelectronic technologies, related materials, solders, adhesives, related components and manufacturing methods

Experience in a formal development project environment is an asset

Participate in walkdowns of the plant to ensure configuration management is supported.

Comprehensive knowledge of the use of AutoCad

Min 2 years (4,000 hours) drafting experience required; 5-8 years within Power Generation/industrial setting, preferred.

Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Knowledge of the MRP environment. Previous Syspro experience is a definite asset.

Minimum 5 years of similar experience in a manufacturing environment; metal fabrication preferred,

Ability to manage priorities and time without constant supervision.

You will work with in SAP to create new materials, and manage engineering change requests

Experience with both metallic and composite materials and manufacturing is considered an asset

You will inspect incoming shipments containing tolerance-based parts from vendors

You will maintain metrology and inspection equipment

You will participate in quality control and assist with process flow and improvements

You will produce and maintain engineering and manufacturing documentation such as drawings instructions, bill of materials, flat patterns, and quality documentation

Develop and apply supervisor skills in this role as a team leader.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience related to product introduction in an electronics manufacturing environment or technical development.

Experience with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

Experience with software tools such as LabView and Matlab is an asset.

Assist in the development of the project schedule through identification of the tasks required and their duration.

Document all issues during the product introduction cycle that affect product performance and manufacturing efficiencies.

Years of Experience Required: 2-5+ years proven hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling and engineering design/integration projects

Proficient in MS Office Suite - including intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Experience in Naval Warship design is an asset

Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian government security clearances (5+ years searchable Canadian history)

10+ years of hand-on experience in mechanical and/or heavy fabrication industry;

0-2 years of experience drafting HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems on a variety of building types through most industry sectors

Good working knowledge of MS Office including Microsoft Excel

Energetic and self-motivated, attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines

Work collaboratively alongside mechanical engineers and EITs in developing mechanical system calculations and design documents for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection

Prepare coordinated Revit models and engineering drawings for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
