Experience in all aspects of a project including the development of requirements specifications/design/prototyping/testing/revision/parts selection and installation

Some knowledge of Transport Canada, FAA or European aircraft design standards and certification processes (asset)

Collaborating in engineering teams with Amtech employees, subcontractors, and clients, offering technical support in structural and mechanical technology

Assisting in achieving ISO standards certification where applicable

Manage the mechanical prototype lab to enable creation, modification and testing of prototypes

Experience using CAD and CAM packages (i.e. SolidWorks, VisualMILL, WinCNC, SprutCAM, PathPilot, etc.)

Experience using Microsoft® Excel, Word, et al.

Maintenance of lab, test and measurement equipment including CNC router, CNC mill, lathe, FDM machine, environmental chambers and paint spray booth

Design, fabricate and modify experimental test apparatus

Execute mechanical verification test plans

Perform individually or as a team member with mechanical and electrical disciplines and under direct supervision of engineers and project managers;

Technologist diploma with a Mechanical / Electrical Engineering focus or equivalent experience;

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit 3D;

Interpersonal skills with team members and other disciplines;

Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English;

Certified or working towards certification with a provincial professional association for engineering technicians and technologists, such as OACETT.

3 - 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Design of industrial machinery, plant equipment and related systems (e.g. piping, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.)

Knowledge of machining, welding and other fabrication processes, GD&T and material selection.

Design modifications for equipment and machinery and assists in developing improvements in processes and methods.

Produce drawings for new and modified equipment and machinery.

Assist in troubleshooting technical problems and recommend upgrading or modifying existing equipment.

Assist Product Standards Coordinator with configuration of products, bills of materials and associated drawings.

Conduct on-site surveys and collect data for project requirements

2-3 years of experience in HVAC, ventilation, piping, utilities, and food processing design

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Assist senior engineers in the design and implementation of mechanical systems including HVAC, ventilation, piping, and utilities

Prepare and interpret P&ID diagrams for various projects

Work with technical project manager and assist with project management

Manage project execution activities including contracting, construction, and budget and schedule management under supervision of senior engineers

Experience with CRM/ ERP programs. Knowledge of NetSuite considered an asset

Minimum two (2) years of mechanical design or related experience

Working knowledge of AutoCAD with ability to create equipment layout drawings and P&ID drawings

Fluid handling systems experience is an asset

Project management experience, particularly in managing complex projects on batch plants.

Assist in the preparation of layouts and detail drawings in line with project requirements.

1-2 years of experience in Mechanical and Materials Handling design drafting.

Experience in 2D and 3D Mechanical design and plant layout.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Address design/schedule issues by maintaining an overview of activity, communicating with team members, and raising issues in a timely manner.

Experience with SGML/XML, Documentum or working in a Content Management System (CMS)

Proficient communication, organization and prioritization skills

Collect, organize and store parts data/artifacts in support of approved customer maintenance concept

Obtain Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) source data

Develop/write procedures as part of overall development of Repair Parts and Special Tool List (RPSTL) and/or IETM

Generate accurate illustration request to support RPSTL and IETM development

Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, control plans

Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience

2+ years of practical experience (co-op experience included)

Training/knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing, desirable asset

Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Autodesk Inventor (required), advanced mathematical skills

Effective verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate with all levels and disciplines

Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology

Read and understand piping, pipeline, and equipment specifications

Be familiar with piping, pipeline, and equipment Industrial Standards (ASME, API, CSA)

Understand and use P&IDs on projects

Specify, evaluate, and select oil and gas processing equipment and piping systems

Interface with other design disciplines, coordinate with related stakeholders, and assist team leads and managers.

Distribution design experience in the electrical utility industry preferred

Knowledge of Power Transmission and Distribution networks and standards an asset

Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook, and ability to quickly learn and efficiently use new software

Experience with BC Hydro's design systems and standards an asset

Support documentation process for projects including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports, and project calculations

Participate in walkdowns of the plant to ensure configuration management is supported.

Comprehensive knowledge of the use of AutoCad

Min 2 years (4,000 hours) drafting experience required; 5-8 years within Power Generation/industrial setting, preferred.

Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities

2+ years of demonstrated experience in building technology including wood frame, multi-family residential projects in BC.

2+ years of experience producing drawings through Revit is a must.

Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to review project statistics.

Support the lead mechanic with general shop related tasks

Assist in changing tires, parts running and diagnostic support

Help maintain vehicle and maintenance records, ensuring information remains up to date and reflects recent repair and maintenance activities

Ensuring task specific training is completed before taking on more complex mechanical tasks

Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition

Perform work in accordance with safety best practices

Years of Experience Required: 2-5+ years proven hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling and engineering design/integration projects

Proficient in MS Office Suite - including intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Experience in Naval Warship design is an asset

Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian government security clearances (5+ years searchable Canadian history)

Previous experience working with CAD standards & Procedures preferred
