Building Technologist (Remote) Jobs

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist with a strong background in the Canadian Architectural Industry. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience, with a focus on wood frame, non-combustible, residential, and mixed-use projects. Additional experience in the British Columbia (BC) region would be highly beneficial. This is a remote position working on Pacific Standard Time.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to meet project requirements.
• Communicate effectively in English, both written and oral, demonstrating clarity and precision.
• Familiarity with municipal approvals processes to facilitate project progression smoothly.
• Demonstrate expertise in building technology, specifically in the areas of wood frame, non-combustible, residential, and mixed-use projects.
• Efficiently manage multiple projects concurrently, adhering to tight deadlines.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, and Municipal staff to ensure project success.
• Work both independently and as part of a project team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ensure compliance with BC Building Code Part 3 and ASHRAE 90.1, with an understanding of NECB being advantageous.
• Utilize Revit to produce accurate and high-quality drawings, ensuring efficient project delivery.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior technologists, contributing to their professional growth.
• Possess a solid understanding of sustainable design principles and incorporate them into project detailing.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively articulate alignment with company principles.
• Familiarity with municipal approvals processes.
• Completed a certified Building Technology or Architectural program from a professionally recognized institution.
• Experience in mentoring junior technologists is desirable.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in the Canadian Architectural Industry.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and oral.
• In-depth knowledge of the BC Building Code Part 3 and ASHRAE 90.1, with understanding of NECB being advantageous.
• Strong understanding of sustainable design considerations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Proficient in Revit, with advanced skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
