This role provides a strong technical foundation and exposure to all aspects of structural restoration, envelope and related building science. RJC is a leader in retrofits of existing buildings for energy, carbon emissions, and durability, and is proactive in helping to advance industry standards. Candidate Profile
As an Engineer-in-Training at RJC Engineers, you will learn about engineering from a technical perspective, but you will also learn business acumen, teamwork and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordination with other engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Client liaison
  • Perform field work related to the assessment and rehabilitation of existing structures.
  • Some structural design and analysis to determine effective repair alternatives
  • Work under the direction of a Project Engineer as a member of the project team, from conceptual and preliminary stage of project design to its completion.
  • Contract administration/construction review while implementing restoration work
  • Perform effectively in both an office and construction site environment.
  • Assist with report writing, contract document preparation and contract administration.
Professional Qualifications & Experience
  • Team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to work overtime at some odd hours as needed to meet site requirements
  • This position includes a comprehensive group benefits package, discretionary performance bonuses, and annual salary reviews.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering – Preference for those candidates with completed courses in Building Science
  • Able to conceptualize in three dimensions
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Aptitude for working with existing facilities and comfortable working at heights
  • Previous experience in an engineering or construction environment
  • A self-starter who learns quickly and works hard
  • Registered as an Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T) with APEGA
