£25,000 - £35,000 per annum + benefits (Permanent)

Growing and ambitious consultancy is looking to recruit an ambitious Assistant Building Surveyor who can match their ambition and join their thriving team based on the outskirts of Chelmsford. Interested? Read on for further details.


Our Client: Well established multi-disciplinary consultancy working on a mixture of public and private sector projects.


Projects: Education, Commercial, Residential and Healthcare.


Company Headcount: 15 - 20


Role Of The Assistant Building Surveyor


  • Liaise with educational establishments to determine capital refurbishment projects viable for CIF bidding.
  • Prepare specifications for tender issue.
  • Collate, organise and issue documentation to facilitate the delivery of projects.
  • Prepare documents such as site visit /Health & Safety reports, minutes and contract administration certificates
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the responsibilities of the role
  • Assist the technical teams to undertake core building surveying duties, including condition surveys, specialist defect inspections, asset management plans.
  • Undertake school condition surveys and reports.
  • Undertake project management and contract administration roles in delivery of the successful capital funding capital projects.
  • Collate secondary research from educational establishments to support the capital funding bid.
  • Produce funding applications following completion of the above items using a bid template.
  • Organise and collate specialist survey reports to support the capital funding bid.


Requirements Of The Assistant Building Surveyor


  • Hold a full drivers license
  • Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience
  • Keen to progress with your APC and ideally be part way through the process
  • Strong client facing skills
  • Hold a Building Surveying degree
