Surveyor Assistant Jobs

As a Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring construction projects are completed according to plan and specifications.
Reporting to the Construction Surveyor, the Surveyor Assistant will be involved in all aspects of construction including take-offs, site setup and calibration, construction layout, as-builts and quantity reports. The candidate must have a can-do attitude, be motivated to learn and be willing to occasionally perform other non-survey related tasks.
Responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with surveying requirements
• Prepare and present surveying data and reports to project managers and clients
• Perform preliminary, construction, quantity and as-built surveys
• Perform topographic surveys to document construction progress
• Complete field survey requests, measurements, setup and configuring survey instruments including grade control machines
• Verify accuracy of contractor's work to ensure they meet requirements and regulations
• Create and maintain accurate and detailed surveying records and maps
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure projects are completed on time and according to plan
• Precise installation of stake lines and survey control
• Set up and operate surveying equipment such as levels, GPS etc.

Requirements

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of surveying equipment and software
• Able to interpret and work with detailed construction specifications and blueprints
• Experience with drones and asset
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experience with Trimble and asset
• Experience with GPS & Total Station an asset
• Minimum of 2 years experience in surveying in a construction setting
