4.1.1. Project Manager – Survey & Machine Control

Experience: Surveying: 3 years (preferred)

1.1.1. Perform Topographic and Quantity Surveys (35%)

Perform topographic and quantity surveys to track quantities of work performed related to contract bid items. ·

- Review new projects to identify required survey layout and asbuilt requirements.

- Experience with Topcon survey equipment preferred.

- Coordinate and schedule with Superintendent/Supervisor on survey support.

- Maintain survey gear and perform calibrations when needed.

- Maintain survey as-built records and preform quantity volume calculations.

- Coordinate survey layout through use of CAD software.

Responsibility for implementation of Change management and application of risk management strategy developed for the project.

Analyze rates proposed by contractors, prices, cash flow, assumptions, exclusions, contract changes and risk assignment with Project Manager during bid evaluation.

Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express throughts in an organized, concise manner across all levels;

Experience creating and executing action plans based on business analytics, financial models, and corporate objectives;

Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills;

Ensure all commercial processes and document control complies with the appropriate Hydro One standards and governance processes.

Proven experience as a Site Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment, and industry standards.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accurate survey measurements.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Professional certification or licensure in surveying is a plus.

Conduct on-site surveys to gather precise measurements and data for various stages of the construction project.

Experience working in remote mining camps.

A formal tertiary survey qualification.

2-5 years of survey experience in an operating open pit mine.

Arctic experience would be beneficial.

Experience working with aboriginal people and communities would be an asset

Topographic surveys, blast hole layouts, as built pickups.

5+ years tunnel surveyor experience is required.

Experience using VMT Guidance Systems is an asset.

Experience and mastery of GPS and modern surveyor’s tools.

A theoretical knowledge of survey engineering and geography.

Superior field note recording skills.

Supervisory, foreman or party chief experience.

Minimum 3 years experience in a related position

Purchase and maintain all survey equipment

Work with Autocad and/or Civil 3D

Interpreting plans and construction drawings

Use of total station and GPS on construction sites

Assisting operators with inputting GPS files for equipment grade control

An Engineer with a strong financial & business acumen, project management skills and Knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.

Waste Water Management & Solid waste management

Drive a cost effective program management to optimize

Stationary Engineer - Class 2 certification required

At least 10 years of related work experience

Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset

Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field

Proven track record of successful cost control and cost management in large-scale construction projects

Manage team member resourcing for optimal utilization across the team

5 - 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in oil & gas or industrial projects

In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying techniques, cost-estimating methodologies, and construction contracts

Minimum of 4+ years QS experience

Minimum 2+ years experience with a Main Contractor

Knowledge of varying Irish Forms of Contracts and Contract Procedures and Protocol

Strong communication and interpersonal skills dealing with design team / client/ meetings etc.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Knowledge of Buildsoft Global Estimating/Cubit/Excel/Word

Minimum of 2 years experience in surveying in a construction setting

Experience with Trimble and asset

Experience with drones and asset

Experience in the use of computer programs for estimating and cost control.

Thorough knowledge of the methods, practices and techniques used in estimating costs

Working knowledge of accounting, computerized data processing and statistical methods and procedures.

Experience in preparing and maintaining a variety of reports, records and correspondence related to the work.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Provides unit costs to assist departmental staff in the preparation of capital cost estimates

· Support Project management to administer schedules.

· Support Project management in budgeting, cost control and billing activities.

· Ensure the Project meets all technical and quality requirements of the contract documents.

· Manage and update construction drawings and specifications, including as-builts.

· 3+ years of Surveying experience

· Must have excellent Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills.

Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.

Must have a minimum of 5 -10 years experience in conducting Marine surveys

A minimum of post secondary education (College diploma or University degree)

Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential

Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.

Experience and knowledge in CCMS (Construction & Completions Management System) is desirable

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Professional Qualification, Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Manage and co-ordinate construction reports and prepare construction progress schedules

Possess at least 2 years of industry experience, with a preference for Electrical & Instrument Oil and Gas projects.
