Join OTG as a Site Surveyor and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and reliable surveying for the Ontario Line project. Collaborate closely with project teams and engineering professionals to provide precise measurements and data that will guide construction activities.
Type of Position: Permanent, full-time
What You’ll Do
- Conduct periodic surveys to monitor and verify ongoing construction activities for compliance with design specifications.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and stakeholders to address survey-related issues and provide solutions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed survey records, including field notes, sketches, and digital files.
- Conduct on-site surveys to gather precise measurements and data for various stages of the construction project.
- Utilize advanced surveying instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of survey data.
- Collaborate with project teams and engineers to interpret survey data and provide necessary adjustments or recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of construction drawings and plans, ensuring alignment with survey data.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while conducting surveying activities.
- Establish control points, benchmarks, and reference marks to facilitate proper alignment and construction layout.
What it takes to make it
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software for survey data processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accurate survey measurements.
- Professional certification or licensure in surveying is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Site Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Health and safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and plans.
- Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in operating surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Degree or diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
