Design & Engineering Coordinator Jobs

:Refine your skills by working with one of Canada’s leading manufactures of store fixtures and retail displays. Our clients include both sales agencies and some of the most well-known Canadian retailers.

The purpose of this role is to design and develop displays based on client demands with a high attention to detail. To produce results with strong aesthetics and sound engineering. This role will be responsible for following projects from design leading up to production.

Job Responsibilities:Your role will be varied and may include any of the following:

· This role is responsible for understanding the scope of work for a project and illustrating in detail as per client requests using Solidworks as a communication tool for our in-house production team to execute

o Determining how units will be manufactured ensuring quality, efficiency, speed and material limitations

o Collaborate with sales team and project managers

o Determining cost effective solutions through appropriate material selection, machining process and fabrication

o Following up on design projects i.e. reviewing samples and executing revisions based on client and staff feedback

o Implementing creative solutions and executing them in a timely manner to keep projects moving along

Job Requirements:

· Undergraduate diploma or degree in industrial design and/or engineering is preferred

Qualifications include:

o Previous experience as a manufacturing industry engineer, industrial designer or similar role

o Thorough knowledge of how production lines and other manufacturing processes operate along with fabrication methods

o Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations

o Spatial, mathematics, and communication skills

o You must be proficient in SolidWorks (CAD Software) with some Adobe Illustrator experience

o Must have strong computer skills

o Competent in reading schematics and blueprints

o Knowledge of various materials used in the store fixture industry i.e. metal, wood, acrylic, glass

o Ability to respond quickly to unplanned events or challenges

o Effective communication and reporting skills for meetings with management to keep them informed of important developments
