We are looking for a talented HyLYZER - 5000 Mechanical/Structures Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Accelera Business in Mississauga, ON / your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Interfaces with various design teams (piping, process, electrical, instrumentation) for seamless integration.
• Manages the conceptualization of modular mechanical design, promoting streamlined processes.
• Improves structural design of product/subsystem/module, ensuring efficiency and innovation. Reviews and approve models, dwgs and other technical definition documentation.
• Selects and defines structural components for skid/frame and product/subsystem/module, enhancing performance.
• Creates clear work packages for the India-based CAD team, ensuring high-quality modeling and drafting.
• Oversees simulation and validation work, collaborating with experts to ensure quality results.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
• Product Function Modeling, Simulation and Analysis - Impacts product design decisions through the utilization and/or interpretation of computational tools and methods that predict the capability of a product's function relative to its system, sub-system and/or component level requirements.
• Mechanical Design of Mechanical Systems - Acquires and applies an in-depth understanding of mechanical systems through working knowledge that guides a designer’s ability to create innovative and sound design concepts to meet Cummins and customer expectations; designs for requirements of all lifecycle stages by considering the customer requirements in different operating environments to ensure a robust system.
• Mechanical Design Modeling and Analysis - Creates Computer Aided Design models in accordance with Cummins' standards to represent architectural or product level system design concepts, and to enable completion of various system-level computer analyses such as Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Structural/Mechanical Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

• Hands on experience of SAP 2000 and STAAD Pro is an asset.
• Familiarity with mechanical design of high voltage / high current electrical systems is a bonus
• Experience with structural design of static industrial installations and skid-based machinery
• Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office and CREO tools is preferred.
• Ability to perform Seismic analysis or define all boundary conditions for other analyst
• Understanding of steel structures like skid bases or heavy duty mounting and lifting structures is an asset.
• Good understanding of stress analysis in structures
• Ability to read, interpret and decompose standards into requirements
• 3 - 5 years of experience in Engineering, Procurement and Contracting (EPC), preferably in Hydrogen, Oxygen service, Oil & Gas, Offshore equipment.
• Working knowledge of Canadian, US California and International building code
• Experience with PTC Creo CAD platform is a bonus
